Jeff is heading to Dam Six to meet the guys and fish for cod. Unfortunately, Jeff is not a great fisherman. However, he did do a good job of cleaning the river. You can easily find discussion questions to connect text to self, from fishing to pollution.
This book contains 25 pages of short <a>, <i>, <o>, <u>, and <e> CVC words, with a sprinkling of double final consonants, as in Jeff. Since double consonants are easily decoded, and we are not asking them to spell, I feel students can manage these words.
