All but one of Rex's hens are white. The white hens are not kind to the smaller red hen. Rex feels bad for the little red hen. He is hoping his friend Cam has a solution to this problem. How do your students feel about this situation? Have they ever felt like the red hen?
This book contains 25 pages of short <a>, <i>, <o>, <u>, and <e> CVC words, with a sprinkling of double final consonants, as in egg. Since double consonants are easily decoded, and we are not asking them to spell, I feel students can manage these words.
